Used armchairs: what we look for
With upholstered furniture, what matters is the inside: springs, webbing, foam. We inspect the frame and upholstery and clean leather and fabric. Whether an armchair has its original upholstery or has been reupholstered is stated for each piece, along with photos from every angle, measurements and a condition description.

Frequently asked questions about armchairs
What's the difference between a cocktail chair and a club chair?
The cocktail chair is lightweight and narrow, with slender wooden legs, typical of the 1950s. The club chair is heavy, deep-seated and usually made of leather, typical of the 1920s to 1940s.
Can an old armchair be reupholstered?
Yes, that's common with vintage armchairs and preserves the frame for decades to come.
Which armchair goes with a vintage sofa?
Not necessarily a matching one. A cocktail chair beside a simple sofa or a leather armchair with a fabric sofa creates a livelier look than a complete set.
Are old armchairs comfortable?
Often more comfortable than new ones, because the springs and horsehair adapt to the body. You can try one out in the showroom.
